These shelters offer housing, food, and care for people who are addicted either to drugs or alcohol. Their only source of income is through donations; you will see them outside different business­es or on streets selling candy and asking for donations - they carry an identification from either institution. Helping Hands – Manos de Ayuda, Inc.
Manos de Ayuda, Inc. is a non-profit corporation that provides rehabilita­tion, health education, medical and therapy equipment and supplies. Projects include assisting schools for children with special needs, provision of therapy services, equipment and construction modifications at a nursing home and a free clinic and day care provided through volunteer donations. Volunteers and financial assistance are also always appreciated.

Pinacate Biosphere Reserve Conservation
The Gran Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve is considered one of the most unique volcanic zones in the world. The conservation of these gigantic craters and the surrounding areas are an important part of our ancient history and culture. Daily self guided tours are available from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Visitors must register at the office as they enter the reserve. The reserve is located in the ejido Nayarit, which is half way between Rocky Point and Sonoyta.
